Governor Godwin Obaseki has not barred the court from participating PDP primary which will be rescheduled to hold on Thursday, 25th June 2020.
The court also ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to recognize Obaseki as a candidate in the primary election. Governor Godwin Obaseki won the primary set by the PDP.
In reaction to the recent development in PDP,
Mr. Idahosa announced his defection from the Accord Party to the Peoples Democratic Party, on Friday at the Ogbona Ward 8 and 9 campaign ground in Uhiele, Esan West Local Government Area of the state.
He did describe Governor Godwin Obaseki as a great man, saying that his developmental stride prompted his defection to PDP.
“I said by God’s grace that I can’t fight my people.” “Our governor is doing well. He is a great man and he deserves to be re-elected. Even the sun and moon will cooperate to work for his success.”
“In this election, my supporters and I are going to work for Obaseki. I am leading hundreds of my supporters to PDP today,” he said.
Also according to Mr. Dan Orbir, the Chairman, PDP Campaign Council, who received Mr. Idahosa to the party, lauded his bold step, describing Mr. Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, as a perfect match.
