Sometime ago, a missionary visits Idumowu Ebelle to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. As he arrived was preaching he saw a crowd coming from the market and a lady popularly called, “ idol chief priestess” order wise known as the Ojie-Oboh.
Bro. Amadi Paul, was ministering the word of God, she asked who are? He said, “I am a missionary, (Bro. Amadi Paul) sent here to do the work of God. I had finished for today. I have no place to stay for awhile.”
The Ojie-Oboh took the preacher to her house and gave him a room to be staying. She felt her village was extralarge land of promised. She has found that conditions of the town were incredibly primitive, food scarce and comforts unknown. She had worked hard ever since she could remembered. If not she has been a villager and well known. She could have not survived it.
The Priestess has many numbers of people as her clients: People who have been looking for children, People who always came for massages. People who were looked for one fetish to the other. She was known for giving several herbs for the people suffering from many illnesses. She was well known and a talked of towns in the entire of Ebelle, Ogwa, Ebhiohimi, Okalo, Ewosa, Igueben and lots, so many years past. She had an Idol Temple at her house, in one of her rooms, which she felt was so potent can do the unseen and seen held to her experienced in practical means.
After some time, the Priestess; Ojie-Oboh, came into the room where was doing some incantations and enchantments to bring down powers, sooner she had discovered that the power and the potency of the idol has been disappeared. Due to the presence of God in the life of the humble preacher unknown to her.
She asked, “Where on earth has this power run to?” She encouraged herself and visit a strongman who has a higher power. She was told, “that a higher power visited you and the power behind your goddess disappeared.”
She called the Preacher and asked, “have you gone to spoil my Temple, the means of my livelihood; income? He replied, “No! I have been praying for my success, breakthrough and that of the town. I have not prayed against you and family.” She replied, Thank you sir. It seems to me that you are serving a greater power! How do I get this power? The Preacher, asked her to confess her known and unknown sins. And to accept Jesus Christ into her life. She has promised, “She and her household would serve and praise God.”
The Priestess and her family run to Jesus and surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ as their Saviour and Lordship. Glory be to God in the highest.
